How to Run A/B Testing in Salesforce Account Engagement (Pardot)?

To improve your marketing success in Account Engagement (Pardot), running A/B tests is a great method. Let's talk about the topic to make the best out of your A/B tests.

A/B tests can help you optimize your email campaigns by understanding how your audience engages with different elements of your emails. It's important to continually run and analyze tests so that you can deliver more targeted and relevant messages to your subscribers. After executing A/B tests, analyzing the results, and making changes accordingly, you'll begin to notice an improvement in opens, click rates, and conversions. 

How to set up A/B Tests in Account Engagement

Keep these two things in mind before starting your test.

  1. Define your goal
    First, define your goal for the test. What are you hoping to get out of this test? Higher open rates and click-through rates are common goals.
  2. Identify the subscribers
    Next, identify your subscribers for the A/B test.

Let's open Account Engagement:

  1. Go to Marketing > Email > AB Tests
  2. Send a new List email
  3. Fill in the email information and make sure to enable A/B Test Checkbox. This will copy your A email and generate the B version.


4. In the editor you can switch between version A and B

5. When finished creating your email versions click on sending. Add your lists and suppression lists you would like to send to.

6. Adjust the percentage of the audience you would like to use for testing

Click on the schedule button or send the email directly. After the determined time the winner will be sent to the rest of the audience.


That's it already, you are now able to do an A/B Test with Account Engagement.
